Understanding your Mission performance

Want to know how your Missions are doing? The CollegeVine UI makes it simple to track performance. Here’s a short guide to help you make sense of the reporting metrics.

Mission Dashboard

High level reporting metrics applicable to Missions on the Missions Dashboard

  1. Recipients: Total records that have received the email/phone call/text

  2. Touchpoints: Total count of all activities (note, multiple touch points can occur per recipient - more details by communication mode below)

  3. Engaged: Total records who clicked an email CTA or answered a call (not yet available for SMS)

  4. Conversion: Same definition as Goal in the detailed reporting pages (see below). Total students who met criteria for defined goal.

Email Missions

  1. Recipients: Total records that have received the email

  2. Touchpoints: Total count of all activities (emails sent, emails opened, emails clicked). Multiple touchpoints can occur per recipient if the Mission is one time or recurring (ex: if a student receives the email, opens the email and clicks the email, that is 3 touchpoints).

  3. Engagement: Total records who clicked on email CTA

  4. Goals: Total records that completed the defined Mission goal

  5. Open rate: % of emails opened (opened emails / total emails delivered)

  6. Click-through rate: % of opened emails where the defined CTA was clicked (total CTA clicks / total emailed opened)

  7. Delivered: Total emails delivered

  8. Opened: Total emails opened

  9. Clicked: Total email CTAs clicked

  10. Click rate: % of all emails where the defined CTA was clicked (total CTA clicks / total emails sent)

  11. Opt-out: Total records who opted out

  12. Undeliverable: Total records who failed to receive an email

  13. Initial audience: Initial audience defined by set criteria

  14. Current audience: Current audience that still meets set criteria

  15. Newly eligible: Record that were added into the Mission if they met the set criteria (only applicable if "Dynamic Audience" is on)

  16. Exited early: Records who no longer match the audience criteria, have already met the goal, have reached the max number of communications set by the Mission or have opted out.

    1. Note: Records could appear as exited early if their Mission was scheduled but not yet delivered. Applicable Mission data points will update once the Mission is delivered - i.e. recipient, opened, clicked, etc.

  17. Opt-out: Total records who opted out

  18. Ineligible: [not relevant for email Missions]

  19. Undeliverable: Total records who failed to receive an email

  20. Total active: Same as current audience

  21. Total inactive: Same as exited early

Phone Call Missions

  1. Recipients: Total records that have received a phone call

  2. Touchpoints: Total calls made (includes those answered or went to voicemail). Multiple touchpoints can occur per recipient if the Mission is recurring.

  3. Engagement: Total count records that answered a call

  4. Answer rate: % of calls answered

  5. Calls made: Total calls made (for phone call Missions, this aligns with Touchpoints)

  6. Answered: Total calls answered

  7. Avg. call duration: Average call duration of answered calls

  8. Voicemails: Total calls that went to voicemail

  9. Undeliverable: Total records who failed to recieve a phone call

  10. Ineligible: Total records who cannot receive the Missions (likely due to no phone number or incorrectly formatted phone number)

  11. Total active: Total records still active in the Mission and meet set criteria

  12. Total inactive: Total records who no longer match the audience criteria, have already met the goal, have reached the max number of communications set by the Mission or have opted out

  13. Initial audience: Initial audience defined by set criteria

  14. Current audience: Current audience that still meets set criteria

  8. Opt out: Total records who opted out of SMS messages

  9. Undeliverable: Total records who failed to receive a text

  10. Ineligible: Total records who cannot receive the Mission (likely due to no phone number or incorrectly formatted phone number)

  11. Total active: Total records still active in the Mission and meet set criteria

  12. Total inactive: Total records who no longer match the audience criteria, have already met the goal, have reached the max number of communications set by the Mission or have opted out
