Step 1: Navigate to the email setup page by going to your Vault
clicking on the Comms
tab
Step 2: Under Website Recruiter
, select Setup
.
Step 3: Adjust individual settings.
Transfers: Enter the email address where you’d like escalations to be sent (e.g., your institution’s admissions email address).
Theme: Confirm your theme colors to ensure the recruiter aligns with your brand identity.
Position settings: TThis determines where the recruiter appears on the web pages you’ve added it to. In most cases, you won’t need to make any changes to these settings.
Z-index: The z-index controls how elements are layered on your webpage. If multiple components overlap, the one with the higher z-index appears on top. Adjusting this setting lets you control how prominently the recruiter displays, ensuring it stays visible and doesn’t get hidden behind other site elements. The default value is recommended as a best practice.
Step 4: Navigate to Conversation starters
to adjust initial prompts your Agent will use to engage with students.
Toggle on/off any of the conversation starter options
Edit existing custom instructions in the vault if you want to specify how your Agent should answer a particular question
Test your Website Recruiter in the test window (second image below). Keep in mind, when real students interact with your chatbot, they will need to provide their first and last name and email before the conversation begins
Step 5: Install your Website Recruiter
Under the Install
tab, you are provided the code snippet to add the Website Recruiter to specific pages on your site.
Copy the script provided.
Paste it into your HTML above the closing </head> tag on any webpages where you would like to see the website recruiter.

<scriptRemember to toggle on “Show the AI recruiter.” If you ever want to remove the chatbot from your website in the future, you can do so by just toggling off this setting—no need to go in and remove the code!
FAQ
FAQ
Can I change the Conversation Starters?
Not at this time.
How does the AI Recruiter decide which prompt to put on which page?
Right now this is random, if you don’t want certain questions included, just toggle them off.
Does your AI Recruiter cite sources like competitors?
Not at this time. Remember that our source of truth isn’t your website, it’s your vault!
Which pages will this show up on?
You can decide whether it goes on all pages, or specific pages.
Can I customize the form fill?
Not at this time. The form requires an individual to fill out their first name, last name, email, 'I am' (ex: high school student, prospective graduate student, transfer student, [your institution's] student, parent), and their DOB.
Can I remove the form fill?
Yes! You can remove the form entirely. Many partners opt to do this if they are prioritizing inquiry resolution rather than lead generation.
💡 Keep in mind, if we do not capture an individual's contact information, we do not create a record and lose the ability to track escalations or other interactions with the individual.
Reach out to your Implementation Manager if you'd like to disable the form fill.
Can I adjust the "I am a..." options if they do not align with my institution?
Yes! Please reach out to your Implementation Manager if you'd like to adjust these drop down options.
Can I get the "I am a..." data point sent back to my CRM via the bi-directional sync?
Yes! Please ensure you add a
Self-reported identity
field in your CRM and we will send this back to you.
