Refreshing your assets

Refreshing assets previously added to your knowledge base allows the agent to rescan your URLs for any content updates and ensure your agent has access to the most up-to-date web content.

To view the last time your asset was updated, you can look at the Last updated column in your knowledge base.

CollegeVine recommends assessing and refresh any URLs that have changed at least quarterly. You may want to do this more frequently if your websites change often.

You can refresh every website in your knowledge base by using the Refresh XX assets button in the knowledge base.

You can refresh individual websites by clicking the three dots next to the URL and select "Refresh asset".

Here are common refreshing errors and guidance for how to resolve them:

Error

Common Causes

Steps to Resolve

HTTP 301 Moved Permanently

The requested URL has been permanently redirected to a new location.

Verify and update the URL to the updated/corrected path.

HTTP 403 Forbidden

CV is being blocked by a firewall or the site is password protected.

If the site is password protected, you will need to copy the content into a doc, and add to the "Upload Materials" section.

If there are firewalls in place, ask your web team to whitelist the following IP addresses:

52.5.38.201
52.7.247.138

Then, reindex the failed URLs again.

HTTP 404 Not Found

The requested URL does not exist.

Verify and update the URL to the updated/corrected path.

HTTP 405 Not Allowed

CV is not able to complete the request because the URL is not allowing the command.

Download the webpage as an HTML file and upload to “Upload Materials” section of the vault.

HTTP 429 Too Many Requests

CV has attempted too many requests in a given time.

Wait 20 minutes and try to re-index again.

If issues persist, reach out to your CV Implementation Manager.

Wait 20 minutes and try to re-index again.

If issues persist, reach out to your CV Implementation Manager.
