Branded calling allows your institution's name to appear on a recipient's phone screen when your AI agent places an outbound call — instead of an unfamiliar city and state. Displaying a recognizable name can improve answer rates and build trust with prospective students.
How to request branded calling
Branded calling is not self-serve. To get started, reach out to your CollegeVine contact to express interest. Before setup can begin, we require a letter of authorization from your institution.
Once received, the approval process typically takes 1–2 weeks. CollegeVine will notify you once approval is confirmed and branded calling is active.
Institution name display
Some devices restrict the branded caller name to 15 characters. If your institution's full name exceeds this limit, you may need to provide a shortened version in addition to the full name. Your CollegeVine contact can advise on whether a shortened name is needed for your institution.
Limitations to be aware of
Branded calling does not work in every situation. Whether the institution name displays depends on several factors outside of CollegeVine's control:
Carrier: Not all carriers support branded calling. For example, AT&T is not currently supported.
Device type: Display behavior can vary between iPhones, Android devices, and other handsets.
OS version: The recipient's operating system version may affect whether the branded name is shown.
Because of these variables, branded calling cannot be guaranteed to display your institution's name on every call.
Next steps
If you're interested in enabling branded calling, contact your CollegeVine representative to kick off the process. Be prepared to provide a letter of authorization and, if applicable, a shortened version of your institution's name.
