How to send a Mission with your AI Recruiter

What is a Mission?

The Missions feature allows you to send focused outreach messages to specific student groups—outside the standard nurture journey. These messages can be customized, scheduled, and optimized to help drive critical outcomes like application submissions, event attendance, or form completions.


How to send a Mission

Follow these steps to launch a mission with your AI Recruiter:

  1. Login to your CollegeVine account.

    1. Navigate to AI Recruiter > Missions > New Mission.

  2. Define the objective.

    1. Clarify the purpose of this outreach. Is it to boost applications? Encourage deposits? Promote an open house?

  3. Select your audience.

    1. Choose between two audience-building options: Group and Filter.

      1. Option 1: Group

        1. Upload a CSV of specific students you’ve selected for the mission.

          1. You can manually import this lead list by following CollegeVine’s manual import process. Check out this guide on manual uploads.

      2. Option 2: Filter

        1. Use criteria from your CRM integration to build an audience dynamically.

        2. Add new data fields through Auto-CRM sync and map them in CollegeVine.

        3. Export your current lead list manually from CollegeVine to review available fields.


        ​iii. Sub-Feature: Dynamic Audience

        1. Automatically includes students who meet your filter criteria.

        2. Automatically removes students when they no longer qualify (e.g., a student who deposits will no longer receive a mission urging them to deposit).

  4. Select communication method.

    1. Choose how you want the message delivered—email, SMS, or phone—and click Continue.

  5. Customize your mission.

    1. Internal details

      1. Provide a clear name and internal description for easy tracking.

    2. Instructions to the AI Recruiter

      1. Add a prompt that will guide the AI Recruiter’s message content.

      2. For email: include a CTA URL and button text to direct students to your desired action.

        Note: Any edits here will refresh the sample preview section.

    3. Audience Review

      1. Confirm and review your chosen audience. Note: You cannot switch between Group and Filter after this point.

    4. Communication method

      1. Confirm your chosen outreach mode or update if necessary.

    5. Schedule

      1. Set an end date for the mission.

      2. Define the frequency at which students will receive mission messages.

    6. Goal Tracking

      1. Choose a specific data point (from your mapped columns via data integration) that the system will use to measure progress and success (e.g., application submitted, deposit received).
